PEABODY – Eleanor Jacqueline "Jackie" (Pinney) Piligian, 85, beloved wife of nearly 33 years to David Piligian, passed unexpectedly at home in Brooksby Village, Peabody, on September 29, 2025. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor (Hadlock) Pinney.

Jackie was raised and educated in Springfield, a proud graduate of Springfield Classical High School. She went on to earn her associates degree at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. Professionally, Jackie worked as a book keeper for a number of businesses including, Pinney Construction, the Women's Junior League, and most recently for BCM Controls.

Jackie was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family. She had a sweet tooth and rarely went a night without enjoying her favorite treat-ice cream, especially Friendly's.

A faithful member of the Boston Church of Christ since 1984, Jackie's faith and fellowship were central to her life. In her younger years in Wakefield, she hosted a women's religious book club where friends would gather over lunch to share food, conversation, and a love of reading.

Jackie had many talents and passions. She was an excellent crafter, skilled in knitting, quilting, and needlework. Each family member was blessed with her handmade hats, sweaters, and Christmas stockings-treasures that will be cherished for generations. She was also a wonderful cook and baker, filling her home with warmth and delicious meals.

She loved music, especially the "oldies but goodies" station, and she never passed up a chance to see the Boston Pops-favorites being the 4th of July Spectacular and the Christmas Program. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing Sudoku, and cheering on her beloved Red Sox and Patriots. Lobster rolls and trips to Ogunquit, Maine were among her simple pleasures.

For the last 12 years, Jackie and her beloved David made their home at Brooksby Village, where they enjoyed dinners with neighbors and countless games of Rummikub and Mexican Train dominos

In addition to her parents, Jackie is predeceased by her sister Jean Heitchue.

Jackie is survived by her husband, David Piligian of Peabody, her daughters, Pamela Skinner and her husband Robert of Boston, Deborah Soetan and her husband Ade of Plymouth, Victoria Gerber and her husband Christopher of Yonkers, NY, her grandchildren, Christopher, Rebekah, David, James and his wife Alexandra, and Anne and her husband Felipe, her brother in law, Regus Heitchue, and several nieces and nephews.
