Eleanor C. (McGlinchey) Roth, 97 a long time resident of Dracut, formerly of North Chelmsford, passed away on January 28, 2026 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. “Dick” Roth with whom she enjoyed seventy years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
She was born in Chelmsford on January 26, 1929, and was the daughter of Patrick F. and Gladys V. (Kemp) McGlinchey. She was educated in the Chelmsford schools graduating from Chelmsford High with the class of 1946.
Before marriage she was employed by the First National Bank of Boston, after which she became a full-time wife and mother.
She resided in her home on Chapman Street for 67 years before moving to an assisted living residence in Chelmsford. She is survived by her brother, Bernard McGlinchey of Tamworth, NH; her daughter-in-law, Ricki Roth of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren, Anthony Rosa, Daniel Rosa and his wife, Erin and Sandra Gormley and her husband, Paul; her great-grandchildren, Ava and Aidan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Brian Roth, her sister, Lorraine Entwistle and her brother, Francis McGlinchey.
Per Eleanor’s wishes, there will be no visitation and services were held privately. She will be buried in Edson Cemetery, Lowell at a later date.
