Eleanor Stella Krzesimowski Sagan was born on October 5, 1920 to John and Julia Krzesimowski, in Hamtramck, Michigan. She was youngest of five siblings. The Krzesimowski family emigrated from Poland in 1913. Eleanor was introduced to her future husband and soul mate, Stanley D. Sagan, by her older brother. Stanley and Eleanor were married in Hamtramck, Michigan.
The family relocated to San Antonio, Texas in the early 1960s. In retirement, Eleanor joined her husband and became active in military retiree organizations and the local Chapter of the Polish National Alliance. In addition to her many volunteer activities, Eleanor travelled with Stanley in the United States, Mexico and Europe. Eleanor and Stanley were married for 59 years until his death and had two children together.
Eleanor was always known for her hospitality, "Laughing Polish Eyes", traditional Polish Christmas dishes and desserts, humor, and empathy for people. Eleanor will be missed by her immediate and extended family and friends.
Eleanor is predeceased, by her husband, Stanley. She is survived by her son, Lawrence S. Sagan and wife Elia, and her daughter, Deborah E. Sagan and her husband, Wm. Turner Miles. And by many relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the St. Francis Nursing Facility sister's, caregivers and medical staff for all the care they provided over the years.
A private A Celebration of Life Mass and interment will be held.
