Eleanor W. Spreen, 93, of Medford, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Country Gardens, surrounded by family, under the care of Hope Hospice.
Funeral services for Eleanor will take place at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.
Eleanor was born on August 27, 1931, to Charles and Olive (Lardy) Bohn in Sentinel Butte, ND. She married Neil Spreen Sr. in 1951 and they were divorced.
Eleanor was a homemaker while the children were growing up and later worked as a production supervisor at Marathon Cheese, until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of the Women's Club at Holy Rosary and a member of the PTA at Brookside School. She spent many years taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showing them the joy of card playing. She enjoyed puzzles, cards, tending to her flowers, making her her old fashions, and spending time with her family.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Candy Zirngible of Medford, Lori (Mark) Albers of Medford, and Neil Jr. (Nancy Gegg) Spreen of Sainte Genevieve, MO; grandchildren, Justin (Carrie) Zirngible, Nathan (Mary Ann) Zirngible, Jake (Christa) Kapfhamer, and Adam (Steph) Kapfhamer; great-grandchildren, Erin Zirngible, Conner Zirngible, Danielle Philipps, and Kailee Philipps; great-great-grandchildren, Payton Philipps, Kayden Philipps, Jaxson Kloehn, and Sawyer Kloehn; siblings, Ted Bohn, Maxine Krueger, Marlyn (Evan) Ford, and Gerald (Barbara) Bohn. Eleanor is further survived by other family and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Daniel, Charles, James, Michael, John, Patrick, Charlotte Lane, Louise Smith, Annanell Krausse; daughter, Debra Kapfhamer, son-in-law, William Zirngible, and sisters-in-law, Thelma Bohn and Eleanor Bohn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eleanor's name may be given to Hope Hospice.
