Eleanor Turowski Obituary
Born November 18, 1934, in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Florence Turowski.
Eleanor was very accomplished throughout her life and was a registered nurse for the state of New York for many years.
Eleanor was honored as "Volunteer of the Year" on April 14, 2011, by the Montgomery County Office for the Aging. At that time, she was an active volunteer for more than 13 years and was a member of the agency's advisory board. Eleanor was an active volunteer for other local organizations and her friends always referred to her as "one in a million"
Eleanor is survived by her longtime friend, Adelaide Annunziata and many other friends and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Eleanor will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant, a calling hour will be held prior at the church beginning at 10am. Burial will follow Mass at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

I will always be grateful for having known Eleanor Turowski both at work long ago and as a dear friend for many years. Her kindness and her generosity of spirit were amazing and a joy to behold. Thank you, Ellie, for all you gave and for your wonderful example of a life well lived. And thank you, too, for precious memories of smiles and laughter, memories I treasure and will cherish always.

In the many years of visiting Elenor as a Catholic Eucharistic Minister for Mt. Carmel and St. Mary´s Church, Elenor s Catholic faith was always first and foremost in her life. Truly one of a kind alway thanking God for granting her that special gift of helping others and asking nothing in return. God Bless You Elenor.
