Eleanor Anne Wilson (nee Cochrane), 86 of Metuchen, NJ passed away on September 26, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 7, 1939, in Newark, NJ, she was a first generation American daughter of David Cochrane and Robina Cochrane (nee Donnelly) of Scotland. Ellie was born in North Arlington, NJ and was one of four bonnie, fierce, artistic and spirited sisters.

She was a longtime resident of Metuchen for over 55 years, where she and her husband, James Alan Wilson (1935-2006) built a life with their four children and built a foundation of love, laughter, family, faith and friends.

Ellie worked at Fed Ex as an Operations Manager for 20 years. She served as a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen.

She loved baking with her grandchildren and making cookies for her many nieces and nephews every Christmas. She enjoyed spending time traveling to LBI, the Poconos and exploring the world with her friends and family.

Ellie is predeceased by her sister, Marjorie Connolly and survived by her other two sisters, Christine Cochrane and Margaret McCrea.

She is survived by her children, Sue Hickey, Jeannie Wilson, David Wilson and his wife, Claire Adas, and Christy Wilson and her wife Danni Newbury.

She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Eric Wilson and his wife, Mary Johnson, Seamus Hickey, Shannon Hickey, Evan Harlan, David Harlan, Malcolm Wilson, Isaac Adas, Joseph Gaudette, Ellie Wilson-Newbury, and Julianne Wilson-Newbury and her cherished great-grandchildren: August Wilson and Auden Wilson

To her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her, Ellie was the heart of the family, and her warmth will be carried forward in every gathering, every story, and every smile.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 4-8pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 11am in the funeral home. Interment will follow after the service at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
