Eleanore C. Snyder, 99, of Lake Wales, FL passed away Thursday, March 5th, 2026.
Eleanore was a native of Delavan, WI, who arrived in Lake Wales in 1978. Eleanore graduated from Delavan High School and later attended Lawrence College. She was able to use her love of numbers and statistics as a bank teller at Citizen's Bank of Delavan which was founded by her grandfather. Eleanore later worked as a residence hall assistant with her husband George at the Vanguard School in Lake Wales until they both retired. She was the Saddlebag Lake computer club treasurer which allowed her to keep current with technology and use her skills with numbers. Eleanore loved southern gospel music and contributed her voice in the various choirs of churches she attended. In the last quarter of her life, she busied herself with the care of her various cats and enjoyed socializing with friends over meals.
Eleanore is survived by her three sons; David (Brenda) Norton, William (Beth) Norton, John (Judy Haynes) Norton and stepson, George (Mary Anne) Snyder as well as twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents; Laurence and Eleanore; brothers Laurence and Edward; husband George; daughter Catherine (Gary) Jensen; stepson John Snyder.
Funeral Ceremonies will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until time of service, Saturday at the funeral home.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2026 in Lake Wales Cemetery, 19190 Hwy 27 South, Lake Wales, FL 33853 family assisted locally by Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Lake Wales Care Center, Lake Wales, FL.
