Elece Scott Obituary

Elece Elizabeth Scott passed away on September 18, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. Raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Elece was the daughter of Rebecca R. Davidson and Jewell N. Davidson. Her mother Rebecca was a caring contributor to all things Williamsburg. She supported the development of hospitals, The College of William and Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. This love of Williamsburg was passed to Elece who cherished the Colonial Capital all her life.

Elece attended Murray State University and married Beverly (Bev) Hester Scott of Franklin, Virginia at St. Bede's Church in Williamsburg-a union that became the bedrock of her life. Together, they built a home first in Warrenton, VA, where they raised their four children on their farm overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. Later they moved to Williamsburg, where Elece's heart rekindled its true north. For more than thirty years, she devoted herself to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, where she loved being part of the community and engulfing herself in the beauty of the colonial city.

She is survived by her four children: Angela Scott Wallander (Bill), Christian Hunter Scott, Beverly (Chip) Hester Scott II (Stefanie), and Raleigh Clay Scott; her granddaughters Dee Wallander Rindt and Becky Wallander Schultz; her grandsons Wesley Scott, Willem Scott, and Wyatt Scott; and four great-grandchildren, each a living testament to her and Bev's boundless pride and affection. Her sister, Dixie D. Wolf of Williamsburg, and brother, Donald J. Davidson of Richmond, remain to carry forward her memory. Elece was preceded in death by her beloved Bev.

Elece's happiest days were spent in the company of those she loved, surrounded by the familiar beauty of Williamsburg.

A visitation will be held at Bucktrout Funeral Home on Monday, September 29th at 10:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg at 11:30 am. Those who gather will remember a woman whose life was a celebration of family-a true Virginian, whose spirit will forever walk the gardens and streets of Williamsburg, and whose memory will bloom eternally in the hearts of her family.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Colonial Williamsburg.
