Audrey Moore, 65, of Newport News, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Riverside Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Audrey was born on September 29, 1959, in Newport News, VA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Moore, Sr. A Menchville High School graduate, Audrey went on to earn an Associate's Degree at Thomas Nelson Community College. She worked for many years in retail at various stores before opening her own shop, African Images.

She was beloved by many who knew her as Archie, Ms. Afrika, and "Ma." Audrey enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. A lover of jazz music, cartoons, and Western movies, Audrey filled her life with simple joys and great adventures. Known for a generous heart and fun spirit, she will be lovingly remembered by family and friends.

With fond and loving memories, she leaves her children Tyesha Moore and Samuel DeWayne Moore II (Amy), three grandchildren, Samuel, John, and Daniel, bonus children Alijah Jefferson and Dante Green; as well as her six siblings, Sylvia Moore, William Moore, Clarence Moore, Verrise Wooten, John Moore (Ella), and Raymond L. Moore Jr. Also to cherish her memory, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Whiting's Funeral Home, with Rev. Emerson Boyer officiating.
