Electa Ricketts

Electa Ricketts, born Electa R. Gilliam, a native of Evansville, IN was a Virtuous Woman
of God, dedicated and loyal employee, youth leader, Entrepreneur and a loyal Servant
Leader in the Kingdom of God. Her name Electa means "Chosen One" in Greek.
She accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 10 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Growing up in Church along with her sisters, they were known throughout Evansville, IN
as the loving, kind, and generous Gilliam Sisters.
At the age of twenty-six (26) years old, Ms. Electa moved to Kansas City, MO in 1996,
married in 1997 and remained married until 2010.
Seeking to be involved in the apostolic movement, her steps were ordered to Greater Pentecostal Temple (GPT) in 2002 under the leadership of Bishop Marvin E. Donaldson, where she was baptized in Jesus' name as written in Acts 2:38, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. In 2006, Ms. Ricketts accepted her call as an Evangelist and has shared the gospel to hundreds.
Determined to be a Servant Leader outside the four walls of the church, Evangelist Ricketts has spoken in the correctional facilities, drug abuse rehabilitation centers, City Union Mission and street ministry, sharing
the Good News with the people, no matter who they were.
Evangelist Ricketts loved to worship and praise God that took her beyond the veil to have a closer relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In 2006, Evangelist Ricketts, heard the voice of God, after waking her up early in the morning, giving her the name, Women In Position Everywhere (W.I.P.E.) Ministry Mission: To provide a comprehensive scope of services for women and adolescent girls in support of their recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, domestic violence and sexual abuse in order to lead healthy and productive lives.
There were women, that God strategically placed in her life, many who she called her Godmother, Spiritual Mother and others, all who were Women In Position Everywhere that played specific roles in her life, who added value to be an awesome woman of God, who paid it forward to help others.
In 2021, God guided Electa's steps back to Evansville, IN, drawing her closer to the family she cherished, loved and missed being close to. Seeking a church and Pastor who would embrace her as God's chosen Servant Leader, who had many gifts and talents to help people specifically in the community, she made a decision to make her spiritual home at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Ryan Jackson.
Electa was one of the funniest people we knew. While she never considered herself a comedian, her jokes would leave us in stitches, often bringing tears to our eyes from laughing so hard. Electa was an exceptional cook. People requested her chicken salad with white grapes and spaghetti with meat sauce. Her pastime was listening to music, watching reality and game shows and going to the movies.
Electa Ricketts leaves behind her mother: Shernova Gilliam; her daughter: Tasha Ricketts; sister: Demetry Kimbrew (Randy), Carria Williams (David), Breshonna Gilliam Strader, Frolonda Carrington, Gay Clay; brother: Alvin Gilliam; Dr. Diana E. Clemons (Mama D); aunties: Joyce King and Opal Mustgrove (Luther); uncle: Hobert Sidney; and aunt: Minister Shirley Vanleer (James); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, extended family members and friends.
