Elener Scott Obituary
Published by Legacy from Nov. 11 to Nov. 12, 2025.
West Valley City, UT - Elener Richardson Scott peacefully passed away from pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Elener was born and raised in Enoch, UT to her parents Elton and Rose Ina Richardson. She was the youngest of 10 children and a sibling to many foster children. She graduated from Cedar High School in 1974.
Her lifelong sweetheart C. Frank Scott was serving a mission in Taiwan when his family moved to Enoch, UT. His father sent him a letter stating that they had found him a wife! Those inspired words were absolutely true and Elener and Frank were soon married in the St. George Utah Temple temple on October 14, 1977. Frank was the love of her life and sweet companion of 48 years.
They moved to Sandy, UT, then to West Valley City, UT where they have lived for the last 45 years.
Family wasn't just something to Elener, it was everything to her. She is the mother of 8 children and grandmother of 30 (almost 32) beautiful grandchildren. She often commented that she never could have dreamed or imagined being blessed with such sweet, fine individuals.
Elener was a person of faith, devotion, and service to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-serving in many stake and ward callings. She loved serving as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. She and her husband later served a mission in Dequeen, AR where they made many dear friends.
Elener loved making cookies, cinnamon rolls, brownies, and anything sweet-especially if it involved chocolate. She enjoyed camping with her family at The Spruces, Cedar Mountain, and Three Peaks. You could often find her rocking her grandchildren while reading them stories. She loved sleepovers with them where she spoiled them with a treat under their pillow if they settled down quickly, and a yummy breakfast in the morning. We will miss the "love you mom" at the end of each text or phone call, invitations to Sunday dinner, birthday cards, hugs, and generosity.
Elener was preceded in death by her father Elton, mother Rose Ina, sisters: Florene Sherratt, Marilyn Alger, and Mary Heaton, and son-in-law: Jeffrey Andrews. She is survived by her husband: C. Frank; children: Jessica (Jeremy) Sabin, Heidi Andrews, Neil (Jana) Scott, Jeff (Jill) Scott, Ben (Amanda) Scott, Chris (Kimberly) Scott, Chad (Sondie) Scott, and Erica (Justin) Elnicky; 30 grandchildren, and many extended family members.
All services will be held at the Hunter 20th Ward LDS Church Building at 7035 W LochNess Ave., West Valley City, UT 84128. Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, November 17, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Services will begin at 11a.m. that same day. Interment will be at the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank her wonderful Relief Society and ward family as well as the many doctors, nurses, and hospice staff (Dawn & Becky) that worked tirelessly to ensure her comfort.
