Roger Midgley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home in Sunset, Utah, on November 13, 2025. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 25, 1944, Roger led a life filled with love, compassion, and a quiet strength that deeply influenced everyone who knew him. His life was a testament to the saying, "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return."
Roger was a man of few words, but when he spoke, it was with such depth and importance that everyone around him listened. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he took great joy in the happiness of his children. Married to his wife, Barbara Jill Midgley, since June 7, 1968, their enduring love story was an inspiration to all who knew them. Roger often expressed his longing for an eternal life with Barbara, a testament to their deep and abiding love.
Throughout his life, Roger worked as a baker, a career that served as an extension of his nurturing spirit. His quiet, compassionate nature was the cornerstone of his life, and his devotion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a testament to his unwavering faith. His dedication to his family, friends, and faith was inspiring and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, his six children, seventeen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, with an additional one on the way. He also leaves behind his cherished pets, Boozer and Precious. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Afton Midgley.
As we remember Roger, let us draw strength from his favorite scripture from the Book of Mormon, where Mormon speaks to his son Moroni: "I am mindful of you always in my prayers, continually praying unto God the Father in the name of his Holy Child, Jesus, that he, through his infinite goodness and grace, will keep you through the endurance of faith on his name to the end."
A Graveside Service will be held at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. Ogden, Utah at 1 pm. A Viewing will be held prior to the Graveside, from 11 to 12 noon at Myers Mortuary in Roy at 5865 S. 1900 W.
Roy, Utah.
We encourage family and friends to carry on Roger's legacy by sharing memories and uploading photos to the memorial page. Let us celebrate Roger's life and remember the love and compassion he shared with us all. As the saying goes, "God be with you till we meet again."
