Eleni Chronopoulos

It is with broken hearts and immense sadness we share that our beloved mother, Eleni Chronopoulos, passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family on November 9th, 2024.
Beloved wife to Orfeus Chronopoulos for 55 beautiful years. Loving mother to Tasos (Lynda), Pete (Effie), and Christina (Dimitris) Chronopoulos. Proud Yiayia of Eleni and Evi Chronopoulos. Dear sister to Elias (Kaiti) and the late Toula Anagnostopoulos. Sister-in-law of Helen (Evans) Vasilakos and the late Pete Chronopoulos. Adored aunt, cousin, Godmother, and friend to many.
Eleni was born on February 2nd, 1943 to the late Panagiotis and Panagiota Anagstopoulos in the village of Tsoukaleika Messinia, Greece. It was there where she grew up with her siblings, later marrying Orfeus and immigrating to Chicago in 1969. She raised three children in a happy and loving home.
Eleni was the heart and soul of our home and family. She found great joy in family get-togethers, bringing her sharp sense of style, perfection, and good taste to every occasion. Eleni had a personal touch and knew how to make everything beautiful. Her galaktoboureko dessert was everyone's favorite. Over the years, she always opened her home and touched the hearts of so many. Eleni was always thinking of others and reaching out on names days, holidays, or just to check in to make sure family and friends were all doing well. She had a great sense of humor and a genuine heart of gold. She always wanted the best for everyone, serving as a guiding light to all, especially her grandchildren, who she absolutely adored. We were beyond blessed to have her in our lives.
Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 W Winona Street, Chicago, Illinois. Funeral service immediately to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Ridgewood Memorial Park, Des Plaines, Illinois.
