Elfriede C. "DiDi" Marsh 85, went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2009. She was born on March 26, 1924 in Fulda, Germany to Wilhelm and Anna Schmitt. She came to the United States in 1948 and married her husband of 34 years. She gained her citizenship in 1953 at the University of Wisconsin. DiDi worked for Indiana Bell in 1966. In 1967, she went to work for the Federal Government. She retired from the General Services Administration, as the Area Manager for Telecommunications for the entire state of Indiana and city of Cincinnati in 1990 after 23 years of service. After retirement, she volunteered at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She loved to play golf, bridge and bowl. DiDi is survived by her daughters, Gloria Palmer (Michael), Pamela Pepmeier, (Daniel); grandsons, Adam and Jared Pepmeier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Marsh; her parents and her brothers, Walter and Wilhelm. She was a friend to everyone and gave her heart to anyone in need never expecting anything in return. She will be greatly missed as a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother "Oma" and friend. The family of Mrs. Marsh would like to thank the entire healthcare staff at the Forum for their loving care and attention. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5 in Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East, with visitation there from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 4. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeler Mission.
