Springfield- Elaine Marie Spallacci (Proulx), 72, unexpectedly passed on September 19, 2025. Elaine was born in Westfield, MA on August 4, 1953 to the late Albert J. and Dorothy (Petrin) Proulx and resided in Springfield most of her life.
Elaine spent 30+ years working for Baystate Medical Center. First, in Health Services, then in the Unemployment Department, followed by the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit as an Administrative Assistant before retiring early to beat cancer in 2014.
She loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid animal lover and loved her little dog, Abby 2.0. She loved family meals at home or in a restaurant. She loved and enjoyed dinner at her brother's and lunches with her cousins. She enjoyed Family Game Night with a good meal and a round of dominoes. She loved a good glass of wine. She loved her home and dressing it up with decorations making it warm and inviting. She was a wonderful, thoughtful woman who loved to shop for the perfect gifts for all those she loved. She had fun as a QVC queen who always found the different and unique items, even when teased over the speed in which she could place an order. Elaine had style and panache, she was a classy woman who will be greatly missed by those that love her.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Spallacci and her son in law, Timothy Cash.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Tina Cash. Her brother, David Proulx, his partner, Jane Cicerchia, alongside, niece, Amy DiClementi, her husband, Tim and their three children. Niece, Ashley Proulx and nephew, DJ Proulx. Granddaughter, Hailey Barree, her partner, Barry Sheppard and great granddaughter, Mia Sheppard. Granddaughter, Hannah Cash and husband, Justin. Granddaughter, Angela Demaio. Honorary Grandson, Hayden Hulsart and wife, Aimee. She also leaves her very dear friend, Nora Michalsky and cherished cousins.
Calling hours will take place Friday October 3, 2025 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 45 Locust St.,
Springfield, MA.
Funeral Services will begin in the Funeral Home on Saturday October 4, 2025 at 9:00AM to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 Williams ST, Springfield MA at 10:00 AM.
