Dr. Lee (Elias) Husni, 101, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. Born November 24, 1924, he lived a life marked by achievement, generosity, and devotion to his family, his faith, and his country.

A proud immigrant to the United States, Dr. Husni completed his surgical training and promptly joined the U.S. Army in gratitude to his new home. He served with distinction, ultimately retiring with the rank of Major. Professionally, he became a pioneer in both vascular and cardiac surgery, earning the respect of colleagues and the admiration of generations of surgical students-so much so that he received the department's teaching award year after year. He was also an accomplished researcher and scientific author whose work contributed meaningfully to the advancement of surgical science.

A natural athlete, Dr. Husni excelled in every sport he tried-from serving as captain of his high school basketball team to playing competitive singles tennis well into his 90s. He was also an avid fly-fisherman who cherished time spent outdoors.

Beyond his professional and athletic pursuits, Dr. Husni was a dedicated member of his church, where he was a vocal supporter and active fundraiser for Christian missionaries both in the United States and abroad. His life reflected an unwavering commitment to service, generosity, and faith.

He is survived by his children Jonathan, Jane, and Nicholas; grandchildren Alexander, James, Molly, Bethany, Jared, Maxine, and Karl; and great-grandchildren Will, Jack, Melody, and Alice. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Betsy and siblings.

We will miss his ever-present love, encouragement, and wisdom, as we celebrate his extraordinary life of achievement, faith, and service.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4, at 11 a.m. at Fellowship City Church.
