Our beloved Elida Campos Monteverde known as Micaela, was born on February 28, 1931 in Pisco, Perú. She passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023 at home in Euless, Texas. Elida was preceded by her parents, husband Jesus Monteverde Falconi and her two young children Elida and Jose. She is survived by her sister Elena Campos Valdez, her 9 children, 24 grandchildren, and her 37 great grandchildren: Nelly (Juan Carlos, Mariella, Maia & Andrea), Eumelia (Cynthia, Gerardo & Lee), Jesus (Daniel, Cecilia & Natalia), Carmen (Carmen Liz & Lorena), Miriam (Michael), Luis (Karla, Rodrigo & Ambar), Ana (Ada, Angel & Vanessa), Patricia (Anhello & Jesus Miguel), and Daniel (Elida, Joaquin & Mauro).
She started working in 1960 as nurse assistant at the Rebagliati hospital in Lima, Peru, she traveled to the United States for the first time in July of 1990 where she resided for 33 years. She had the great memory to travel with her children to Santo Domingo in July of 2004. Elida worked hard all her life to provide for her family. She delighted all of us with her tasty meals that were self-taught and learned from her father. She was a great business woman and her cleverness has been carried down through generations. Her work ethic, dedication, and strong personality reflects on us all. We have all learned so much from her, take one day at a time and live life to the fullest. She will be missed but will live on in our hearts forever.
