Elijah James Sample

LYKENS - Elijah James Sample was born on June 29th, 2019 at Hershey Hospital. He was the first born to parents Aliyah and Matthew. After a year long fight with cancer on July 14th, 2022, Elijah was was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by love.
Elijah was the bravest and strongest warrior any of us will ever know. In his 3 years here Elijah blessed us with so much. He taught us to be kind, genuine, humble and to appreciate life for every waking moment it provides.
He taught us to believe in ourselves and that we have the strength to do anything we put our hearts and minds to, but most of all he taught us love, true unconditional and authentic love. It flowed from him in everything he did. Like when he would pester and get into mischief with big cousin Vivyanna and little sister Meadow or when he'd give his Mommy and Daddy nothing but sass to make sure he received what he wanted and would thank them with his evil little laugh or when he'd lay in bed with Grannyma and drove her crazy with watching the same Blaze and The Monster Machines episode for the thousandth time or when he'd have his Titi's and Tio running to his every beck and call ready to provide him with whatever his heart desired... like McDonalds cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets.
The love was always right there pouring into us as we would pour it right back into him. This little superhero changed everyone's life from the moment he arrived on this Earth to the moment he left. His love and memory will flow like a river through us all just as the water flows at The Glen where Elijah would spend countless hours in nature throwing rocks.
Elijah is survived by his parents Aliyah and Matthew. His grandparents Terrie, Brandon, Jamie and Matthew. His Great Grandparents Carole, Marta and Alfonzo. His sisters Meadow Rose and Amelia. His Titi's Deeanna, Brandy, Kyla, Breanna, Samaria, Ariel, Destiny, Sienna and Page. His Tio's Bo, Nathaniel and Benjamin. As well as a host of Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. He will truly be missed but never forgotten!
