Elinor D. Burgher

Elinor D. Burgher, age 91, of Port St. Joe, Florida, and Gaylord, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at The Porches, in Gaylord, Michigan.

Elinor was born January 25, 1934 in Poughkeepsie, New York, the daughter of the late Raymond and Clara (Schrauth) Dean. Elinor was raised and educated in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Following her graduation from high school, Elinor left Poughkeepsie to pursue a modeling career in New York City, where she met her husband of 69 years, Peter Burgher. They married on December 31, 1955, and went on to live in New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan, and Florida.

Elinor was an accomplished flower arranger, gardener, and homemaker. Later in life, she modeled during the 1976 Bicentennial celebration in Michigan. She enjoyed bowling, tennis, needle arts, snowmobiling, and spending time with her family. Elinor traveled the world with her husband and family.

She is survived by husband Peter Burgher, sister Lois Hammes, children Karl (Lynn) of Anaconda, MT and Carol (Ralph) Binggeser of Vanderbilt, MI, grandchildren Kristina, Laura (Kyle), Jacqueline (Benjamin), Madeline (Josh), Sarah (Erik), Aaron, Erik and Peter (Julie) and great-grandchildren Lydia, Carly, Elliot, Bailey, Harper, William, August, Leo, Lorelei and Emery.
