Elisha "Buddy" Porter III, a beloved husband, father, grandfather/Papa, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia. Born on June 27, 1941, in Virginia, Buddy lived a fulfilling life of 84 years characterized by love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.

Buddy was a man of many talents and interests. He spent a significant part of his career in timeshare sales, where his warm personality and genuine interest in people shone brightly. Outside of his professional life, Buddy had a vibrant array of interests that filled his days with joy and adventure. He was known for his love of movies and dancing and found solace in the simple pleasures of fishing and boating. Traveling brought him great joy, allowing him to explore new places and cultures, often sharing these experiences with family.

His educational journey led him to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business, a testament to his dedication to learning and personal growth. He then proudly served his country in the Navy. Later in life, Buddy was a member of the 757 Moose Lodge, where he formed lasting friendships and shared many happy moments.

Above all, Buddy cherished his role as a family man. His greatest pride was being a devoted husband to his late wife, Judy Faye Porter, a loving father to his children, and a doting Papa and Grandpa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family was his world, and his legacy is carried on through his surviving children: son Buddy Porter, son Elisha "Chad" Porter IV, and daughters Elisha F., Cindy, Cathy, and Camey Porter. His grandchildren, Isaiah, Shayna, Lindsay, Josh, Brynn, Elisha "Eli" Porter V, Riley, Kyle, Abigail, and Colton, along with great-grandchildren Autumn and Lily, will forever hold dear the memories and values he instilled in them.

Buddy is preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy Faye Porter, a son lost at birth, his father Elisha Porter II, his mother Grace Evelyn Porter, and his sisters and brother. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Buddy's life will be held at Bucktrout Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10, at 12:30 pm with a reception at the 757 Moose Lodge to follow from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories of a remarkable man whose kindness, humor, and love touched so many lives.
