Tobias Lang Porter, 52, of Canton, passed away Thursday, September 4th, in his home.
Born in Lanett, Alabama on July 14, 1973, a son of Tommy Lee Porter Jr. and Barbara (Harris) Beaty. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Porter. Many family members and friends will remember Tob for his kindness, strength, and most of all, his dedication to his family, by blood and choice. His love for his children was truly beyond measure. He often said that they were his greatest accomplishment and strongest source of pride. His presence, support, and influence helped to shape so many along the way. His hug could change the entire course of your day and his laugh would make the whole room smile. Whether debating or just passing time, Tob loved a good conversation. His guidance, advice, and love will be truly missed. In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Shannon (Stidom) Porter; 3 daughters Kaydence Porter, Kayla Porter, Ashley Spencer; 2 sons Joseph Porter II, Draven Porter; 2 honorary children Diara Rampey, Jessica Scott; sister Tina (Horace) Mays; 6 brothers Harvey Stanford, Darron Rampey, Jerome Rampey, Caleb Fears, Malcolm Dudley, Tony Baker; 2 grandchildren Ameenah Harris & Domonique Harris Jr.; as well as other loving family members and friends. A Funeral service will be held in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home on Saturday, September 13th at 12pm. Family and friends may call two hours prior. Directly following services, a celebration of life will be held in Weis Park, 2600 Harvard ave NW, Canton, 44709.
