Elizabeth Ann Baker, 89, of Hueytown, AL, passed away on September 17, 2025. She was a former business owner in Hueytown with The Book Place and was the Birmingham Club Champion in golf in 1982. Elizabeth was very active civically, serving as a counselor for the American Cancer Society and the Altar Guild at St. Aloysius Church. She also coached school softball and volleyball teams for many years and was a talented artist, showcasing her paintings at several churches and libraries in the area.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Robert J. Sr. and Josephine Lilley, and her brothers, John Lilley and Robert J. Lilley, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles L. Baker, Jr.; her daughter, Lisa Baker Boyd (Michael); several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. Aloysious Catholic Church (751 Academy Dr, Bessemer, AL 35022). Visitation will be an hour before the service. Entombment will follow the service in the mausoleum at Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Fr. Reju Pynadath will be officiating.
