Elizabeth Brock Obituary

Elizabeth "Lib" Simmons Brock, 97, former resident of Heather Lane, widow of Luther Mills Brock, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 at The Oaks of Greenwood.

Born in Abbeville, May 8, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Claude Lee and Ethel Cheek Simmons Jackson. Mrs. Brock retired from Greenwood Mills in 1994. After her retirement, Lib worked alongside her sister at Sadie's Styling Salon for 17 years.

A member of Harris Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club and Greenwood Moose Lodge #834.

Surviving are a daughter Judy Dodgen; step-daughter, Lois Ann Brock; two grandchildren, Shawn Denise Timmerman and husband Todd and Thomas Randall "Shane" Dodgen, II; great-grandson, Thomas Chase Timmerman; and two great-great-grandchildren, Austin and Sydney.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Shirley Jean Hall and Ruth Elizabeth Hall; sister, Georgia Allen Timms and Sadie Darragh; and three brothers, William Franklin Simmons, Olin David Simmons, and Walter Eugene "Pete" Simmons; and son-in-law, Randy Dodgen.

A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Long Cane Cemetery in Abbeville.

Memorials may be made to Harris Baptist Church, 300 Center St., Greenwood, SC 29649.
