Elizabeth Buck-Griffin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 14, 2025.
Elizabeth "Karen" Buck-Griffin, 69, passed away on October 8, 2025 in Suffolk, VA.
Karen dedicated 41 years of her life to the United States Postal Service, where she took great pride in her work. In her later years, she and her family embraced a love for travel, visiting as many national parks as possible-journeys that took her from the highest to the lowest points on Earth. Karen and her husband, David, were a refuge for countless stray cats, always opening their home to animals in need.
She cherished time spent fishing with her family and had a passion for antiquing. Karen was also an avid fan of horse racing and rarely missed a game when the Washington Nationals were playing.
Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of Stacy L. Buck and Emma Futrell Buck. She was also preceded in death by her dear brother, Stacy L. Buck, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, David Griffin; her daughter, Kelly Griffin (Bobby Tew); her twin sister, Cynthia Buck-Thompson (Donald); nephews, Daniel A. Thompson (Katrina), and Jonathan Taros (Lydia); great-nieces, Lilith and Alida, as well as many other cousins and loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Susan G. Komen Society, or your local humane society.
