William Russell Bradshaw, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home in Suffolk, VA on October 11, 2025. He was born in Collosse, Virginia to the late John and Annie Bradshaw.
Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later retired from Union Camp, where he worked as a skilled pipe fitter. In his free time, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-fishing, tending to his garden, and cheering on Dale Earnhardt Sr. on race day. Above all, Russell was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished Pop Pop whose presence will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his 10 siblings, Ruby Carr, Mary Carr, Ernest Bradshaw, Louis Carr, Morgan Bradshaw, Louise Pope, Verna Carr, Margaret Drake, Leroy Bradshaw, Alfred Bradshaw; and his lifelong friend Robert Earl Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary "Terrye" Gordon Bradshaw; his children, Glenn Bradshaw (Bonnie), Gordon Bradshaw (Connie), Dale Bradshaw (Peggy), Michael Bradshaw (Shannon); grandchildren, Nikki, Darryl, Brittney, Russ, Anthony, Kennedy, Charlie, Sharla, Taylor, Erin, Austin, Mikayla, Hailey, Kirsten, and Branden; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Brooklyn, Maddox, Michelle, Karolyn, Sammie, Conrad, Carolyn, Wynona, Jaxon; and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank his incredible caregivers, Alisha Gray-White, his great-great niece, Carolyn Flood, and Esther; and neighbors, Jerry and Carolyn Ricks.
A graveside service will be held at Meadowbrook Memorial and Cremation Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday October 14, 2025 from 6:00-7:30 PM at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel. Condolences can be offered at RWBakerFH.com.
