Elizabeth Allison Clark also known as "Liz", beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on February 7, 1958 to Paul and Audrey Clark in New York, and lived a life centered on education, service, and devotion to her family.
She married Grady in New Rochelle, New York on August 25, 1984. Together, they made a home in Randolph, where a life rich with love, tradition, and friendship was cultivated. To this union, God blessed them with two sons, Christopher and Kyle, who remain her greatest treasures.
Elizabeth earned her Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University; then decided to further her education by attaining a Master's Degree in Education from Cambridge College. It was this pursuit of excellence in education that would ultimately define and shape Elizabeth's career path
Over the years, Elizabeth contributed her intellect and professionalism to several institutions, including Boston Bank of Commerce, Boston Housing Authority (BHA), Roxbury Community College and Northeastern University's John D O'Bryant African American Institute. At the "Institute", she served as the Associate Director of Student Leadership and Global Engagement, leaving a legacy of commitment and excellence. In 2017, Elizabeth was honored by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education with the "29 Who Shine Mentor" award in recognition for her tireless efforts to ensure the success of the Roxbury Community College graduates. She was also recognized as one of RCC's "50 Pioneers" as part of the college's 50th Anniversary celebration in 2023.
Affectionately known as "Ms Liz" to many of her Northeastern students dropping by for check-in at the "Tute", Elizabeth was their away from home loving and nurturing "mom." She consistently encouraged each student to "be the very best version of yourself." Realizing that more work was required to provide students with opportunities for advancement, Elizabeth immersed herself into various initiatives including the "Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Graduate Fellows Program", "Kwanzaa", "The Taste of the Diaspora", "The Caring Cuisine" and so much more. For every effort of which she was a part, Elizabeth went "above and beyond" to ensure her students had the very best outcome.
Elizabeth was deeply rooted in sisterhood and service. She was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Psi Omega Chapter and attained the status of "Life Member" and "Silver Soror." Her continuous 32 years of active membership in the sorority reflected her commitment to uplifting others and strengthening the community. She held several offices including: Psi Omega Chapter Graduate Advisor for Epsilon College Chapter (2010 – 2011, 2015 – 2016), Boston Pearl Foundation – President (2013 – 2014), Debutante Cotillion Co-Chair (2009 and 2021). Additionally, Elizabeth served in the role of "North Atlantic Region Hodegos."
Elizabeth was also a dedicated member of The Links, Incorporated, Middlesex Chapter, where she served as chapter President (2021 - 2023), Vice President of Membership (2019 - 2021), Treasurer (2015 -2019). Besides being an officer, Elizabeth served as Facet Chair for "Services to Youth" and Facet Co-Chair for "National Trends and Services." She also was a member of the Greenlight Gala Committee, Retreat Committee and Membership Committee.
With her magnetic charm and bright smile, Elizabeth was a natural at cultivating close relationships with friends in the various social organizations. Eventually, the bonds established through tightly knit friendships led her to the doorstep of Myrtle, the church "where love abides." Elizabeth, guided by faith and trust in the Lord, joined Myrtle Baptist Church in late 2013. She was baptized on Sunday, the second day of March, 2014. At the October 2015 church business meeting, Elizabeth was nominated and elected to the Myrtle Baptist Church Trustee Board. She served on the Trustee Board for close to ten years. Elizabeth was also a member of the "Daughters of Myrtle." For her outstanding service to the church community, Elizabeth was presented with the Daughters of Myrtle, "2019 Stewardship Award."
Additional Board memberships included that of the Boston Renaissance Charter School and the Roxbury Community College Foundation.
Elizabeth's love of travel embarked her on Caribbean cruises and excursions to foreign lands including Africa, Europe, the western Mediterranean, and many other destinations. She was particularly excited about her annual trip to Martha's Vineyard where she enjoyed the fellowship with family and camaraderie of close friends. She never missed a "pINKWELL™" beach party on the Vineyard with her sorors and close friends.
At home, Elizabeth had a passion for cooking. As a family, we were often spoiled with great meals including "Nana's" fried chicken, greens, potato salad, and a delicious pound cake. This was especially on display during the holidays.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her devoted husband, Grady; beloved sons, Christopher and Kyle; her aunt Geraldine Clark, and three loving sisters Jennifer, Janine Adjo (Brian) of New York, and Jehan Dixon (Jordan) of New York; and four grandchildren (Angelia, Analise, Kaliana, Ava) and nephews (Roderick, Zaire, Zion) and nieces (Sahai, Siri).
Elizabeth will be remembered for her brilliance, grace, style, and an enduring ability to nurture everyone whose life she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, fellowship, and love that will carry on through her family, friends, and the countless individuals she inspired. She leaves a legacy that will be felt for generations. Elizabeth, "Liz", will be sorely missed.
