Paul A. Schaetzl, 61, lifelong resident of Quincy, MA, died on August 28, 2025.

Paul was born in Boston, MA on September 4, 1963. Paul was pre-deceased by both of his loving parents William J. Schaetzl and Elizabeth M. (Fitzgerald) Schaetzl.

Paul graduated from St. Agatha School, was a proud member of North Quincy High School, Class of 1981, and earned a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University, Class of 1986. Paul’s Northeastern Co-op assignments at State Street Bank launched his career in the financial services industry. Paul enjoyed his career and was able to retire early.

Paul loved photography and captured the beauty of God’s creation around him. He enjoyed sharing his photos with so many, to help brighten our days. Paul enjoyed traveling and experiencing many destinations around United States and Europe. On a recent trip to Yosemite National Park, Paul, our gentle giant, appeared dwarfed by the Giant Sequoia Trees in Mariposa Grove. Paul derived great pleasure from being at the family home at Lake Winnipesaukee and the friendships he developed in the NH Lakes Region. He enjoyed board games including Scrabble, Cribbage, Boggle and Pit.

Paul’s family members include his brother William “Bill” Schaetzl, Jr. and his wife Elena, his sister Elizabeth “Betsy” Bugden and her late husband John, and his brother Richard Schaetzl. Paul was pre-deceased by his brother Robert Schaetzl. Paul also leaves his nephews William Schaetzl and Robert Schaetzl, along with William’s family, his partner Sue Ray and their two sons (great-nephews) William Henri and Darcy Owen. Paul also leaves behind many cherished family and friends.

Paul had a warm smile, quick wit, and welcoming laugh. Your memories of Paul are always there to give you peace. Paul’s Life is a legacy of love, laughter, joy, and caring for others. We are certain that Paul received an angel’s escort to heaven.
