Martin F. Fitzpatrick, known affectionately as Marty to his friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2025. His departure from this world came just five days after the loss of his beloved mother, Ann C. Fitzpatrick, reuniting them in heaven in a poignant testament to their deep bond.
Marty was born to the late Patrick J. and Ann C. Fitzpatrick, a family grounded in love and unity. He was a brother to Patricia A. Healy of Holbrook, James F. Fitzpatrick and his late wife Eileen of Scituate, Michael G. Fitzpatrick and his wife Sheila of West Roxbury, John J. Fitzpatrick of Quincy, Mary Ellen Comer and her husband Kieran of Milton, and William J. Fitzpatrick and his wife Erin of Quincy. Marty's role as an uncle was one of his greatest joys, and he was a cherished figure in the lives of his nieces and nephews: Edward, Sean, Maura, Michael, James, Katy, Liam, Conor, John Jr., Emily, Christopher, Ash, Geralyn, Patrick, Brendan, and Caroline. His love also extended to his great-nieces and nephews Josh, Seamus, Donovan, Kellan, Ryan, Claire, Kiera, Bridget, Seamus, and Cassandra, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Marty is predeceased by his great friend Bobby Jansen, whom they shared a lifetime of friendship. A friend that extended to Bobby's parents, Marty became a second son to the Jansen family.
A proud graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1980, Marty was a dedicated Red Raider who carried the spirit of his alma mater with him throughout his life. His career path was marked by a commitment to helping others, most notably through his work in health care transport for Brewster. Marty's selflessness and dedication to the well-being of others were hallmarks of his character.
An avid sports fan, Marty's loyalty to all the Boston Sports Teams was unwavering. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, sharing his enthusiasm and love for the game with those around him. But beyond his passion for sports, Marty's most profound dedication was to his family. He was the embodiment of the perfect uncle-reliable, rock-steady, and always prompt. His gentle presence brought comfort and joy to family gatherings, and his kindness was a beacon of light for his loved ones.
A devout Catholic, Marty was an active parishioner and usher for over 30 years at St. Ann's Church in Wollaston.
Marty's gentle giant stature was matched only by the size of his heart. His love for his parents was a testament to the kind of man he was-devoted, caring, and deeply connected to his roots. The loss of his mother just days before his own passing is a reminder of the unbreakable bond they shared in life and death.
Described by those who knew him as loving, kind, and gentle, Marty's legacy is one of warmth and compassion. He lived a life that was full of caring for others, whether it was through his professional endeavors or in the quiet moments spent with family and friends. His gentle spirit and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed, but the memories of his love and devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Martin F. Fitzpatrick lived a life that exemplified the virtues of love, kindness, and gentleness-a life that will be cherished and remembered by all who were touched by his presence. As we say farewell to Marty, we take comfort in knowing that he and his parents are together once more, watching over us with the same love that they so freely gave during their time on earth.
