Elizabeth (Betty) Dahn
Elizabeth Dahn, wife of the late Carl Dahn passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at Griffin Hospital, after a long illness. She was 89 years old.
Born on November 22, 1936, in Waterbury, Betty was the daughter of the late
Joseph and Nellie (Taylor) Fetyko. A longtime resident of Seymour, when she wasn't out shopping or dining at Fritz's you could find her enjoying her many hobbies. She enjoyed reading and had quite a large collection of books and once said she wished she could take her books to heaven with her. She also made many quilts for family and doll dresses for her granddaughters.
Betty was also an avid painter up until her passing and gave many of her paintings away to family. She loved to be around family and friends and often went out with her childhood friends from grammar school, known as "Teabags". Betty also loved her three cats.
Betty was married to Carl Dahn 59 years before his passing and leaves her
family to cherish her memory, daughter, Kit (Robert) Aleksiewicz; son, Joseph
(Kerrie) Dahn; son, Lance Dahn; brother, Steven (Patricia) Fetyko; daughter-in-law, Joann Dahn; and son-in-law, Donald Matejek; also 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa; son, Carl Dahn III; grandson, Carl Dahn IV; foster son, Gordon Richmond; great-granddaughter, Chloe; and brother, Joseph P. Fetyko.
A private visitation will be held, followed by a public Funeral Mass, on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, directly at 11:00am at Church of Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour, CT; a spring burial will be held at Jack's Hill Cemetery, Oxford. St. Memorial donations, in memory of Betty, may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
