Elizabeth "Betsy" Dean

Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Dean, age 75 years, a resident of Whitmer, WV, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025 at her home. She was born May 15, 1950 in Elkins. Left to cherish her memory is one sister, Amy Lou Armentrout; one sister-in-law, Portia Dean; two nieces, Mandy Phillips and Janet Thompson; four nephews, Jason Mallow, James D. Dean, Matthew Dean and John Armentrout. Several great nieces and nephews and two close friends, Janet Godwin and Carolyn Arbogast also survive. Preceding her in death were her parents, Naomi and Chester Dean and Budge Nelson; one brother, James A. Dean; one nephew, Ricky Armentrout; one sister, Shirley Mallow and one brother-in-law, Ray Mallow. Elizabeth graduated from Harman High School with the class of 1968. She retired from the Randolph County Emergency Medical Services after 36 ½ years of service.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Wymer officiating. Interment will follow at the Mullennex-Armentrout Cemetery at Whitmer, WV.
