Elizabeth Denes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home - Worthington on Nov. 9, 2024.
Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Denes, 59, passed away surrounded by loved ones Thursday, November 7,
2024 at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Liz was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on October 21, 1965. She grew up in Byesville, Ohio, and was best friends with Donna Lanning. Liz was a dedicated and hard worker throughout her life; she graduated from Franklin University with a B.S. in Accounting while working as an office manager at Sun TV. Afterwards, she rose to Assistant Controller at R.P.I. and worked there for 30 years.
She really enjoyed traveling to Walt Disney World (W.D.W.), and researching genealogy.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed discovering the "interesting characters" in our family tree! Her
favorite pastimes were visiting graveyards and planning trips to W.D.W.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents Samuel and Polena Heinzman (paternal),
Samuel and Emma Kocher (paternal), Irvin and Angeline Long (maternal), Henderson and Mary
Bishard (maternal), grandparents Hershel and Edith Long (maternal), Clarence and Pearl
Heinzman (paternal), parents Florence and Paul Heinzman, and brother Paul II Heinzman.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband James Denes, her daughter Richelle Denes, and her sister
Gerry (and Tom) Beckner. Elizabeth also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many
friends. Calling hours are on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Rutherford Corbin
Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am
Thursday, November 14, 2024. The preceding hour can be used to pay respects. After the funeral,
proceed to the burial starting at 1:30 pm at Cambridge Northwood cemetery, 1399 N. 10th Street,
Cambridge, Ohio. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Dublin Methodist Hospital, and Columbus Oncology and Hematology, who went above and beyond to take wonderful care of Liz.
