Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Emond, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River after a long illness. She was 82 years old. She was married to Donald Richard "Dick" Emond for 29 years, sharing a partnership built upon mutual respect and affection, until his passing in 1992. Their legacy lives on in the family they created and nurtured together.

Born on June 18, 1943, in Taunton, Betty was the cherished daughter of Antone J. and Rose (Amaral) Perry. Her life was marked by warmth, resilience, and a boundless affection for those she held dear. Betty's journey took her from Taunton to Wareham and later to Winter Garden, Florida, each place enriched by her vibrant presence and caring nature.

Betty was a proud graduate of Taunton High School and Bay State College, where she cultivated the keen mind and steadfast determination that would serve her throughout her career. She dedicated many years as a legal secretary in the office of Attorney Benjamin A. Friedman, while he was serving as Mayor of Taunton. Her professionalism and kindness also graced the offices of Robert Merithew in Raynham and Marine Optical in Easton. Later, as the office manager at Rapid Records Retrieval in Bourne until her well-earned retirement.

Beyond her professional achievements, Betty found joy in life's simple pleasures and treasured moments. She delighted in traveling and camping, reveled in days spent at the beach, and enjoyed the art of card reading and the challenge of crossword puzzles. Betty was also a gifted writer, pouring her wit and wisdom into a family memoir titled, "From Here to Absurdity," ensuring her stories and laughter would endure for generations. Above all, Betty's greatest happiness came from being surrounded by family; their love was her anchor and her inspiration.

Betty's is survived by her daughter Michele Lazzari and her husband Todd, and her son Christopher Emond and his wife Amanda. She leaves behind her beloved sister Margaret Pelletier and her husband George, and her nephew Gary Pelletier. Betty was the proud and loving grandmother of Ashley Merithew, Kevin Merithew, Todd Lazzari, Thomas Emond, Jordan Emond, and Christopher Emond, and great-grandmother to Jett Merithew, Bella Rose Merithew, and Carlee Emond. She also held dear in her heart the memory of her late son Joseph Emond and her granddaughter Lori Beth Emond.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, from 9:00am-10:30am followed by a 11:00am Memorial Mass at St. Anthony's Church, 126 School St., Taunton. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
