Elizabeth Esterly Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Esterly, of Lombard, beloved wife, mother, and aunt, passed peacefully on February 2, 2025, surrounded by her family at The Pearl of Hinsdale Nursing Center.
Born in 1945, to Italian immigrant parents, Elizabeth grew up with her twin sister, Laura, in the Chicago area. In their teenage years, Laura and Betty were taken in by the Andrews' family of Southwest Chicago.
Working at the US Treasury, she met her husband, Jacob Esterly, and raised their children in the Chicago suburb of Woodridge.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, studying and documenting her Italian lineage, playing bingo, as well as an occasional hand of blackjack or video poker.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Jake; her two sons and their spouses, Andrew and So Yeon Esterly, and Anthony Esterly and Sarah Bollinger; her niece, Kerry Murphy; her stepniece; Phyllis Cooney and her stepnephews, David, Jim, and George.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Pasquale and Palmerina Morrone; and sister; Laura Murphy.
Visitation Saturday, February 08, 2025, 1:00 PM, until time of service at 3:00 PM, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road Lombard. Interment private.
