Elizabeth "Betty" K. George, 75, formerly of Middleburgh, NY died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home in East Greenbush where she had resided for the last few years. Mrs. George was born on March 16, 1931 in New York, NY a daughter of the late Karolina (Mueller) and William E. Zipfel. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting, knitting and quilting. Mrs. George was a former member of the Farm Bureau and the Huntersland Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. While at their winter home in Casselberry FL., Mrs. George was an active member of the local Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Virgil J. George, Sr. Mrs. George is survived by her sons: William (Lori) George of Breakabeen, NY and Virgil J. (Jgerry), Jr. of Middleburgh, NY.; grandchildren: Nicole George of Cobleskill, NY, Virgil J. George, III of Middleburgh, NY, Joseph George of Breakabeen, NY, Steven (Alicia) George of Fultonham, NY, Matthew George of Breakabeen, NY; great-grandchildren: Taylor George, Emma George and Virgil J. George, IV all of Middleburgh, NY and Hayden George and Ethan George both of Fultonham, NY. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place at the Vale Crematory in Schenectady, NY. Memorials may be sent to the Rensselaerville Volunteer Ambulance Squad, PO Box 182, Rensselaerville, NY 12147
