Elizabeth Ileana Hart Johnson, 94, of Fisherville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast and lung cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 14, 1930, in Grayson County, Kentucky, Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of the late Anna Elizabeth Shain Hart and Aud Brown Hart of Big Clifty, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her beloved husband of 60 years, Albert Ray Johnson; her sister, Dorothy Marie Crutcher; and her nephew, Shane Natcher.
Elizabeth’s life was defined by hard work, deep faith, and an endless devotion to those she loved. Alongside her husband, she poured her heart into their farm and hatchery in East View, Kentucky, and in the early 1960s they founded Albert Johnson Trucking Company. Later, her creative spirit inspired the family business, Fisherville Hill Flower Farm & Florist, which continues to honor her love of flowers and the joy she brought to others.
But Elizabeth’s greatest joy, without question, was her family. Being a mother, “Granny,” and “Great-Granny” wasn’t just a role she filled - it was the very heartbeat of her life. She poured her soul into her endless love for her daughters, and that same love flowed effortlessly into the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the joys of her days, her greatest pride, and her sweetest blessings. She celebrated every milestone, cherished every visit, and made each child and grandchild feel like the most important person in the world. Her love was steadfast and unconditional - the kind of love that comforted, encouraged, and always made her family feel safe and cherished.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lynn Frame (Rick) and Connie Theresa Ormerod (Roy); her grandchildren, Holly Lynn Frame Stengel (Jeff) and Austin Frame (Emily); and three great-grandchildren - Elizabeth Kelley Reece, Audrey Annalynn Frame, and Hannah Marie Stengel - with one more great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her loving sister and closest confidant, Betty Hart Natcher of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and her dearest friends, Paul D. Reece, Sharon Deas, and Sara Goin.
Elizabeth’s life was marked by her gentle, giving nature. She was the first to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm meal to anyone in need. Her home was always open - and her heart even more so. She delighted in cooking and baking for her family and friends; her famous carrot cake became more than a dessert - it was a symbol of her love and a tradition that will be passed down for generations.
She had a deep love for the earth and found joy in her gardens, filling them with beauty and care - much like the way she nurtured the people around her. Her compassion for others was boundless; she had a heart for anyone who was sick or in need. She loved talking about good health and nutrition, always eager to share her knowledge to help others live well. And in the quiet moments, she found comfort with her treasured cat, Sugar, by her side.
Elizabeth’s unwavering love for the Lord guided her every day. She lived her faith through her actions - showing compassion, patience, and kindness to everyone she met. She loved reading her Bible, quoting scripture, and sharing her faith with those around her.
Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and grace. She was truly an angel on earth - a woman whose gentle spirit and warm heart touched every life she encountered. To know her was to feel loved, supported, and uplifted.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243) burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens, East.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Pastor Jeff Wallace and the congregation of Hike’s Point Christian Church for their prayers and support during this time.
