Elizabeth LaBean-White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home - Standish Chapel on Feb. 6, 2026.
Elizabeth "Betty" LaBean-White, a cherished soul known affectionately as Betty to her loved ones, passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2026, at McLaren-Flint. Born on November 12, 1942, in Standish, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora (Compeau) Luberda. Betty's life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and kindness that touched everyone she knew.

Betty's journey began in the small town of Standish, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large family. She found her first love in James LaBean, whom she married on November 14, 1958, in her hometown. Together, they built a life filled with joy and the laughter of children until James's passing on May 21, 2001. Betty's heart found room to love again, and she married Charles White on October 15, 2016. Charles, too, preceded her in death on January 20, 2022. Through the joys and sorrows, Betty's resilience and love for her family shone brightly.

Betty was the beloved sister to Flossie (George) Armstrong, Carol (Richard) Dickhausen, and Fern (Diego) Tenorio. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters, who had been an integral part of her life's journey. Betty's legacy continued through her devoted children, Cherri (Jim) Nawrocki, Debra (Mike) Casagrande, and Robin (John) Kruzell. Her grandchildren, Jamie (Nicole) LaBean, Crystal (Joe) Brobandt, Justin (Heather) Nawrocki, Casandra (Nick Cristoforo) Nawrocki, Tiffany (Keith) Lang, Mathew (Carly) Arquette, Brian (Bristine) Kruzell, Jacob (Sara) Kruzell, and James Kruzell, were the apples of her eye. The joy of her life multiplied with the arrival of many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart.

Betty's passion for life was evident in her many interests. She found solace and joy in gardening, tending to her flower patches with a tender hand and a loving touch. Her creative spirit was expressed through crafting and sewing, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic soul. Betty's adventurous spirit was never far from the surface; she was always ready to embark on a new journey, whether it was a trip to the casino or traveling to new destinations. Above all, her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored with every fiber of her being.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday February 10, 2026, at 1 pm from The Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home – Standish with burial at Pine River Cemetery. The family will greet family and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 am until time of services.

Betty was always kind hearted and friendly when our family (Vic Campau Family) visited Aunt Cory and the kids. I was little but remembered the get togethers, joyful times. May God grant Betty peace and let perpetual light shine upon her. May He bring comfort to her family.
