Elizabeth Theresa Ronan Lokey, 92, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away on January 19, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Elizabeth was born on September 7, 1932 to Albert and Marion Ronan in Glens Falls, New York. After graduating from St. Alphonsus Regional Catholic School in 1950, she went on to enroll in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1954-1957 during the Korean War era while stationed in Northern California and Texas. She was very proud of her military service, which included having worked as a secretary for a U.S. Air Force general. Elizabeth received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force ranked as an Airman First Class.
On December 12, 1964, she married Raymond Lokey at Saint. John's Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. Raymond and Elizabeth went on to have four children: John, Sean, Anjela, and La Donna. She was a devoted, generous and loving mother and grandmother to eight grandchildren. Elizabeth was known for her easygoing personality and wonderful dry sense of humor; she lived life to the fullest.
In 1980, Elizabeth, who was very proud of her work in various personnel departments for several companies, retired from working in the federal government. She spent her free time being with her family, shopping, and traveling. Elizabeth continued to stay busy pursuing hobbies such as entering and winning various Sweepstake contests.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, and her brothers Charles, Albert, and Robert. She is survived by her sons John and Sean Lokey, her daughters Anjela and La Donna Lokey and her grandchildren Savannah, Dakota, Logan, Julia,John, Alexandria, Rania, and Danny.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary Magdalene Roman Catholic Church in Gilbert Arizona on January 27th at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 2:00 pm.
