Elizabeth (Liz) Kot McCormick died peacefully on February 14, 2026 at ECMC in Buffalo, NY surrounded by family. She was 99 years old.
She graduated from the Wyoming Central School in Wyoming, NY in 1944. She became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974 after a serious study of the Bible. Liz loved her family, singing, golfing and was often seen walking her dog Sniffer on the streets of Warsaw. She was one of the regulars at Laurie’s Restaurant in Warsaw. She was a loyal and supportive wife of her late husband Paul J. McCormick, the potato farmer. They were married for 56 years. Her husband Paul died 20 years ago.
She was predeceased by her siblings Olga Zinkievich, Alexandria Strzelecki, Sophie Clark and Stella Cupicha. Her 7 children Kathleen Conte - Berkeley Heights, NJ; Christine (Curtis) Caddell – Topanga, CA; Melissa (Mark) Questell – Wallkill, NY; Jim (Lisa) McCormick – Bliss, NY; Gail McElroy – Westlake, CA; Deidre (Michael) Foster-Warsaw, NY; Tom (Sara) McCormick – Bliss, NY. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home located at 246 North Main St. Warsaw NY 14569 on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The family invites you to her funeral service. It will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4261 NY-19 Silver Springs, NY 14550 (Rock Glen).
