Graveside services for Elizabeth Joy Jackson McDearmont, 76, will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Rev. Sione Tu’uta.
 
 Elizabeth was born on November 25, 1947 in Camden, Arkansas to Murray Jackson and Maxine Anderson and passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at home in Greenwood, Louisiana.
 
 Elizabeth was a resident of Greenwood, Louisiana. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1965 and married the love of her life, William R. McDearmont, on May 22, 1965 where they were married for 58 wonderful years. She drove a school bus for the private school, Agnew Town and Country Day School, for several years. After that she went to work for Turner Elementary/Middle School. She retired to care for her parents at home. She loved fishing and camping at the lake. Her family meant everything to her.
 
 Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Maxine Jackson; brother, Billy M. Jackson and wife, Nita; daughter, Terrie L. Hollowell Callia; and niece, Judy Townsend. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, William R. McDearmont; son, William Timothy McDearmont and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Tyler Bates, Cameron McDearmont, Isabella McDearmont; nephew, Glen Jackson and wife, Janice; and son-in-law, Pete Callia. 
 
 Honoring Elizabeth as pallbearers will be Tim McDearmont, Cameron McDearmont, Tyler Bates, and Pete Callia. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Glen Jackson.
 
 The family would like to express special thanks to Compassus Hospice and a very big thank-you and appreciation to Autumn Wafer, Leslie French, Vickie Webb, Barbara Perkins, Annette Thomas, Antoine Cartwright, Carla Myers, and Shalonda Gilbert for the care and compassion given to Elizabeth.
