William Cupples Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Osborn Funeral Home - Shreveport on Jan. 2, 2026.
William Knight Cupples, 84, a lifelong resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on December 18, 2025, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family and beloved pets.
Born and raised in Shreveport, William was a proud fourth-generation planter. He dedicated his life to carrying on his family's legacy, working the land with deep knowledge and a steadfast commitment.
Outside of his work, William was well known for his passion and talent in trap shooting. An avid competitor, he earned multiple Louisiana State Championships over the years and formed lasting friendships within the shooting community. His skill, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm were admired by all who shot alongside him.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Robson Cupples and Willma Knight Cupples, and his sister, Rae Robson Field.
William is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Lynda Knight Cupples; his children, Karen Lea Cupples, William Robson Cupples, his loving niece, Renee Johnson and his sister in law Sandra Struska, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who lovingly cared for William during his illness and who showed great compassion and kindness to both him and his family.
William will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, quiet strength, and the deep roots he planted-both in the fields he tended and in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy lives on in his family, his community, and the land he cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be planned in the coming months, with details to be shared at a later time.
