Laurie Mabus Obituary
Laurie was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Smith Mabus; her maternal grandparents, Pauline and Ivan Smith, Sr. of Shreveport; and her paternal grandparents, Newton and Eileen Mabus of Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Anna Elyse Mabus; granddaughter; Francis Elyse Mabus of Shreveport; father, James "Jim" David Mabus of Shreveport; brother, Mark Mabus of St. Augustine, Florida; sister, Polly Mabus Simmons of Austin, Texas; uncle, Ivan Smith, Jr. and aunt, Melba Oldham Smith of Shreveport, along with other extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Laurie was baptized at First Baptist Church of Shreveport. She graduated from Captain Shreve High School and remained connected to the Shreveport community throughout her life.
Inurnment will be held at The Columbarium at First Baptist Church of Shreveport. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
