William “Bill” Goodwill passed away on December 12, 2025.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St. with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Minister Bart Gould.
Bill was born in Shreveport, LA on August 31, 1954, the son of the late Anna Faye Williams and Marion “Buddy” Goodwill. Bill was married to Karen Ann Markey Goodwill for twenty-two years. Eventually they went their separate ways, but always maintained a special bond over their children. Lovingly cherishing his memory are his son, Daniel Goodwill and wife, Tina; daughter, Caroline Hubbard and husband, Anthony; and grandson, Link Hubbard. He will also be remembered by his brother, Michael Goodwill.
Bill attended Marion Abramson High School in New Orleans, where he learned to drive and ultimately graduated from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport. He attained his BS in biology from LSUS and went on to work as a lab research associate at LSUS Medical Center until his retirement.
Bill was a smart, humble, and kind person. His stereo and record collection often revered– a dedicated audiophile, although he would just tell you he really liked music. It was always a pleasure to share music with friends and family in the living room or going out to concerts. Artistic endeavors like photography, drawing, and painting also brought him immense joy and creative expression.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations may be made to The Living/Dying Project at livingdying.org
