Elizabeth "Betty" (Falkena) Nop a lifetime resident of Warwick, NY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2025, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 81.

Born in Goshen, NY, on August 30, 1944, she was the daughter of Charles and Jennie (DeJager) Falkena.

Betty lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She was an active member of the Goshen Christian Reformed Church, where she volunteered in the nursery, Vacation Bible School, GEMS Girls Club, and on countless committees wherever her help was needed. She also devoted her time to the Goshen Christian School, working as the office secretary, helping with fundraising events, serving on Helping Hand, and so much more. The ministry dearest to her heart was the Right to Life organization. For many years, she faithfully organized and filled a charter bus each January, traveling to Washington, D.C., to take part in the March for Life alongside so many others who shared her passion.

Above all else, Betty's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mom to her daughters, a proud "Gram" to her grandchildren, and a cherished "Mama Nop" to those she embraced as her own. She loved deeply, prayed faithfully, and never missed an opportunity to send a handwritten card filled with encouragement, love, and the reminder that she was praying for those she held dear.

Betty also had a love for travel. She enjoyed her time in Lancaster, PA, shopping and making memories with her family, she especially cherished her time in Florida, where she enjoyed the warm winters, beach days, gospel concerts, and fellowship with dear friends. Betty's life was a reflection of her faith, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of kindness, prayer, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her four daughters and their spouses: Charlene Hamill (Robert passed); Janene Arnold (Terrence); Jolene Larsen (Michael); Lorene Robinson (Marc); eight grandchildren: Tyler (Kayla), Trevor, Amanda, Jessica, Dean, Chambers, Rouen, Vallen; two great grandchildren Parker and Kasey; brothers-in-law Hank Nop (Alice), Martin Nop (Marguerite); sisters-in-law Julie Wildschut (Randy), Charlotte Nop and numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Bing Nop; her brother and sister-in-law Ralph & Florence Falkena, brother-in-law, Johannes Nop and brother-in-law Jerry Nop.

Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Goshen Christian Reformed Church, 2440 Route 17A, Goshen, NY 10924, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Betty and I were classmates at Goshen Christian School from the 2nd through 8th grade. We graduated in 1958 with a total of 8 in the class. We had many fun times when in school and in Young People“s club after that. My condolences to her family.

What a friend to have known and stood alongside with over many years in the battle to defend the lives of the defenseless. I am confident that Betty has already heard the following words from Jesus, The One who formed precious Betty in her mother's womb and has made ALL things, "WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT".
