Elizabeth DeLaite Nordberg passed away peacefully Friday, October 17, 2025, born September 17, 1935. A memorial service in her honor will be held at St. John's Cathedral, with the date to be determined.

Elizabeth was born in Revere, Massachusetts near Boston at the height of the Depression and moved to Hawaii during World War II when her father was called to help rebuild American warships following the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor. It was on the beaches of Oahu that she met a ruggedly handsome Marine rotating back from the Korean War, and who would become the love of her life and father of her two children. Known to her friends as Betty, she was a world-class gardener, loyal friend, devoted wife, and a fierce and loving mother. With the passing of her beloved husband, Elizabeth moved to Shreveport upon the arrival of her beautiful granddaughters – thus beginning the "Nana Bananas" phase of her long and fruitful life. She proved herself indispensable and vastly influential in shaping the lives of all who loved her – that is – all who know her.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah DeLaite Nordberg; her husband, Robert James Nordberg Sr.; her sister, Nancy Petrucci; and her parents, Milli and Frank Boyd.

She is survived by her son, Col. (Ret.) Robert James Nordberg II, and his wife, Dr. Mary Lowery Nordberg; her granddaughters, Alexandra Fultz, Mary-Elizabeth Nordberg, and Grace DeLaite Nordberg; and her great-grandsons, Harrison Brooks Fultz, Jack Lowery Fultz, and Millard Banks Fultz.
