Elizabeth Jean “Betty” Simpson (nee Bray), of Maryland Heights, MO, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Gary J. Simpson; cherished daughter of the late John and Edna Bray; devoted mother of Theresa M. (Lonnie) King, Brad T. (Angela) Simpson, and Tina L. (John L.) Burnett; loving grandmother of Bryan (Shae) King, Cody King, Devin Bray Simpson, Taylor Simpson, Sandra Elizabeth Simpson, Nickolas (Kayla) Burnett, Nicole Elizabeth Burnett, Neal Burnett, Heather (Edgar) Arvizo, and the late Brandon King; treasured great-grandmother of Haylen King, Kasen King, Sutter Taylor, Odessa Arvizo, and Lane Arvizo; dear sister of the late Maryrose Davis, the late Virginia Murphy, and the late John Michael Bray, the late Robert Bray; precious Aunt Bets, sister-in-law, and friend.
Betty was the loving wife of her beloved husband, Gary, for nearly 68 wonderful years. She was a fantastic and devoted mother who cherished her family deeply. Betty loved spending time in the country, outdoors, and with her dogs. Known for having the “Luck of the Irish,” she delighted in sharing her winnings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Elizabeth's name to the National Down Syndrome Society.
