Elizabeth Swanson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 29, 2025.
Elizabeth Sue Swanson, born January 9, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away August 25, 2025 at the age of 70, in Bradenton after a brief battle with unexpected medical issues.
One of five siblings, Sue was predeceased by her sister, Lucy and is survived by her brothers Frank Swanson (Jodi), Tom (Tommy) Swanson (Nina), and sister Sandra Swanson Dean. Others celebrating her rich life are beloved nephews Evan (Lauren), Alex (Sandy), niece Eleanor, nephew Brian, grandnephew Jack, her loving cat, Jimmy, and Mike, the love of her life. So many lifelong friends will always be at the ready with a "Sue" story.
Sue graduated from Wolfson High School, and earned Masters Degrees in Art Education (UNF) and Art History (UNF), then dedicated her career to teaching b K-12 children the wonder of the craft. She touched thousands over decades!
Never having fully grown up, and a hippie soul, Sue was the life of the party. She loved the beach, her cats, live music, the blues, and was always the first one on the dance floor – just as she was merely days ago.
Remember: old hippies never die, they just add another layer of color to the tie-dye in the sky!
A donation to the Gulf Shore Animal League in Bradenton, Florida (http://www.gsalinc.org) would honor Sue's legacy as a passionate animal lover.
Service information will be forthcoming.
