ELIZABETH ASHLEY THACKER
4/11/1932 – 7/18/2025
Mrs. Elizabeth Ashley Thacker, 93, entered into rest Friday, July 18, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Herman Lindsey Thacker, Sr.
Mrs. Thacker was born in Lincolnton, GA to Bud and Blanche Ashley, but lived in Augusta most of her life.
Mrs. Thacker worked for Dupont/Westinghouse at Savannah River Site in the Procurement Department, Retiring in 1994 with close to 30 years of service. She loved working in her yard and was very meticulous about it. She loved golf and watching her grandson Scott play. She loved the Masters and looked forward to that week every year. But most of all she cherished her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Thacker was a longtime member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church.
The family would like to express their deep admiration and gratitude for the management and staff of Thrive at Augusta, Enhabit Home Health and Hospice and her special caregiver Ms. Lynn Ross. They cared for Elizabeth through some difficult days but never failed to give her their utmost care and love. We are forever grateful for them all.
Family Members include: Daughter - Robin (Bobby) Rinder, Son - Lin (Denise) Thacker, Grandchildren: Scott (Allison) Brown, Haley King, Brandon (Kara) Thacker, Ashley (Matt) Gaylor, Ryan (Michelle) Thacker, and Great-grandchildren: Elly & Emmy Brown, Oaklyn King, Olivia & Karly Thacker, Natalie, Brooke, & Hannah Gaylor, Liam, Alice, Owen and Ameila Thacker.
Mrs. Thacker is preceded in death by her late husband Herman Thacker, her parents Bud and Blanche Ashley, her sisters Lucille Edmunds and Norma Jean Mckinney.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with the Rev. Bert Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Scott Brown, Brandon Thacker, Ryan Thacker, Joey Lott, Derek Thacker, Jay Thacker.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford Avenue Baptist Church, 507 Crawford Ave, Augusta, GA 30904 in her honor.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2025 one hour prior to the service at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Road, Agusta, GA 30907, 706-364-8484.
