Elizabeth Ann Trantham, 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at South Texas Health System McAllen. Born on January 22, 1962, in Ft. Carson, Colorado, to the late Daniel Robert Guthrie and Elizabeth Selma Guthrie, Elizabeth Ann's life was a tapestry woven with love, creativity, and devotion to her family.
A beloved wife, Elizabeth shared an unbreakable bond with her husband, Clarence Edward Trantham. Their partnership was a beacon of strength and joy, built on mutual respect and a deep, abiding love. As a mother, Elizabeth poured her heart into raising her four daughters-Michelle Lynn Machen, Diana Christine Salinas, Ashley Nichole Cuellar, and Sarah Moriah Dgyves-always putting their needs and dreams above her own. She was the steady hand guiding them, the warm embrace that soothed their fears, and the proud cheerleader celebrating every milestone.
Elizabeth's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. She delighted in the laughter of her seven grandchildren-Tristan Cole Machen, Nathaniel James Machen, Amber Bailey Salinas, Zoey Ann Marie Salinas, Grayson Alexander Salinas, Jackson Wade Salinas, and Ellie Louise Dgyves-treasuring every hug, every story shared, and every moment spent together. In her gentle way, she taught them kindness and imagination, often gifting them with the beautiful, crocheted treasures she crafted by hand.
Creativity flowed through Elizabeth's veins. An avid artist and craftswoman, she found solace and purpose in crocheting intricate blankets, delicate doilies, and one-of-a-kind pieces that she lovingly gave to friends and family. Her garden was another sanctuary-a place where she nurtured vibrant blooms and fragrant herbs, sharing the beauty of nature with all who visited. Though she is preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Crystal Trantham, and her brother, Garret Guthrie, Elizabeth's spirit lives on in every life she touched. She also leaves behind six beloved "grand fur babies"-Theo, GiGi, Bonnie & Clyde, Pappacitos, and Gizmo-who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4 to 9 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 7 p.m., at Flores Funeral Home in
Mission, Texas. Following the visitation, cremation will take place. During this time of profound sorrow, the Trantham family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of Flores Funeral Home for their kindness and support.
Elizabeth's legacy of love, art, and family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May we honor her memory by living with the same generosity, creativity, and devotion that defined her life. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Elizabeth, please visit our Tree Store.
