Elizabeth "Betty" Villoria, 95, of San Clemente, California, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, beauty, and resilient spirit touched everyone she met.
Betty was born Elizabeth Marcella Matsalla on July 8, 1930, on a farm near Buchanan, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Joseph Matsalla (Macala) and Mary (Wilgosz) Matsalla. Betty was a woman devoted to her family and faith. She continued to practice her Catholic beliefs throughout her life and was known for her generous spirit and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her kindness, beauty, and creative talents left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Matsalla; her brother, Albert Matsalla; her husband, Charles Villoria; and her beloved son, Earl Villoria, who passed away on July 7, 2025. Betty is survived by her brother, Irvin Matsalla; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory and the courage she showed throughout her life.
Funeral services will be held on October 29, 2025, at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, California, where Betty will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Charles Villoria and reunited with her son Earl Villoria.
