Elizabeth Weber Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Becvar & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Care - Crestwood on Mar. 7, 2026.
Elizabeth "Betty" Weber, nee Fortier, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 89. Devoted wife of the late Ferdinand Weber. Loving mother of Nick (Linda) Weber, Mark (Brigid) Weber, Michael (Melissa) Weber, and Will (Tricia) Weber. Beloved grandmother of Emily, Mary, Michael, Steven, and Nicholas, and great grandmother of Eleanor. Dear daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth Fortier, and sister of the late Bob. A cherished friend to many.
Betty was a kind and caring woman who placed her love for her family above all else. Her gentle spirit was reflected in the way she lived her life each day. She was the best listener, always taking the time to ask about what was happening in your life and genuinely caring about the answer.
Betty shared 67 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ferd. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and kindness. Side by side, they raised a wonderful family and created a lifetime of beautiful childhood memories for their children. Betty and Ferd were always eager to lend a helping hand, whether supporting family and friends, volunteering at the local assisted living community, or bringing joy to children as the perfect Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the Crestwood Library. Betty also was a member of the women's club at Incarnation Church, volunteering her time whenever it was needed. Together they formed many lifelong friendships and shared years of laughter, good times, and impromptu potlucks with friends from their old neighborhood in Chicago and later at their home in Crestwood. They especially enjoyed simply spending time together, reminiscing about the many memories they had shared over the years.
Above all else, Betty cherished being surrounded by her family. Her greatest joy and most treasured role in life was simply being "Mom". She shared her sweet nature, love, and kindness with her four boys every day, always putting them first and guiding them with patience and care. Her love naturally extended to her role as a grandmother, where she found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and creating special memories with them. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and love will always remain in the hearts of her family.
In her later years, Betty displayed an incredible inner strength that was greatly admired by her family and all who knew her. She made many wonderful friends at Sunrise of Palos Park, where her days were filled with activities and social gatherings which she truly enjoyed. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Sunrise for the outstanding care and kindness they showed both Betty and Ferd over the past few years. A special thank you to Betty's dear friend Sue for the love, compassion, and care she has shown throughout years of friendship. The family is forever grateful.
